Itinerary Overview
It was february when we arrived from Argentina to Chile, We have to cross cordillera de los Andes.
Running along the western side of South America, they are one of the most extensive mountain ranges in the world. Its varied terrain includes glaciers, volcanoes, grasslands, deserts, lakes, and forests. The mountains are home to pre-Columbian archaeological sites and fauna.
We booked 4 nights at Corral de piedra in "segundo Corral town". a Nice beautyful wooden house were part of the view and took place in the middle of the quietness and cold of Los andes.
Excellent experience with the family of Los Andes 4x4 excursions. The rides are worth what they cost: the trucks are impeccable We will be back very soon!
After a few days there we arrived to Santiago de Chile: We found Santiago rather uninteresting as a tourist destination. It is basically a modern city without much character. The air quality is bad with a brown layer of very dry air hanging over the city. The food is totally uninspired (bland) even in 5 star restaurants like Camino Real Enoteca. The Plaza de Armas has little to offer in beauty and the parks are nothing special either. On the positive side (other than the very clever pickpockets), the Metro is 10 times better than in New York with cleaner, more modern cars on rubber wheels and roomy stations with clear directions.
We expend 6 nights and had a good time. But Santiago is not a pretty city and walking around is difficult. Pollution is a serious problem and good neighborhoods are mixed with bad ones. In our stay we went 3 days out of town: Vina del Mar, Valparaiso, Isla Negra and Concha y Toro winery. All these tours were great.
The 3 houses of Neruda are worth the visit, also Cerro San Cristobal on a clear day. For shopping the market in front of Santa Lucia is the best for afforddable gifts. Pueblito Los Dominicos is excellent for items of quality, but expensive. For eating go to Caramano in Bellavista. Hotel Galerias is a nice deal. And drink as many Pisco Sours as you can.
The last place we visit and stayed was Valparaiso, well known city in the Coast of Chile.
Villa Liguria, located in Cerro Yungay in the city of Valparaíso, brings together the pleasure of enjoying a quiet stay in this city, a World Heritage Site and encountering the picturesque landscape of this port that dazzles and dreams each of its visitors. Villa Liguria presents a welcoming apartment to relax, with dependencies that make you feel at home.
After that we returned to Santiago very tired because Chile has lots of hours to travel from one city to another but, ther routes are good, the people is very nice with tourists and also got a open and constant richer culture.
A country to visit from the mountains to the city!

Segundo Corral. Los andes trips
Amazing place to visit, really cold and expensive but really recomended to those who want to have and adventure between snow and high peaks in South America

Santiago Capital of Chile. Culture
Restaurants are numerous in Santiago and the shopping excellent, the wines fabulous and the whole country very beautiful. Want flyfishing, it's possible, want horseback tours, it's possible, want to ski by helicopter, it's possible.

Valparaíso Culture, poetry. Bohemians
It is very impressive to see its architecture, how it has been maintained over time. Its buildings, although old, are in good condition and give a very unique beauty.

Lodging
Like the few hotels, it is very simple, without any kind of detail that distinguishes it. Therefore, it is necessary to take into account the place where it is inserted. Normal room Simple breakfast. Very good location. Very good service
Santiago is a strange city for me, a young man from a small city I liked it because it is very different from what I had in mind but in itself it is advisable to visit it not as a tourist but as business since I got bored too much because I did not find information sites tourist and many places of interest
Villa Luguria Very good place to take photos since it is like the old quarter of Valparaíso, from the port. There are many hidden restaurants to eat fish, the area is not very pretty and it is recommended to be careful with thefts, try not to go at night if you do not know the area.
