Packing tips?
April is the ideal time of year to visit the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica. It is the last month of the dry season, so there is potential for less rain. The average daily temperature is 85 degrees. But there are 27 microclimates in Costa Rica, so do not back only shorts and flip flops. There is no dress code for many places in Costa Rica, so I would recommend packing light and comfortably. It is also a good idea to have a second outfit for the evening to change into after activity days when clothes may get dirty or wet. Costa Rica is a humid country with the chance of rain even in the dry season. I would always recommend packing a rain jacket, bug spray, sunscreen, a hat, and a day bag for your excursions and adventures. I would not recommend bringing high end clothing, purses, or jewelry. Typically in Costa Rica you will be outdoors and exploring nature, items you do not want to ruin, leave at home.Transportation Tips?
All of Cherish's Trips provide private transportation for the group, whether you are on a small group tour or private bespoke tour. It is our goal to allow our guests to simply show up in country and we handle the rest. Transportation in Costa Rica is an element that you do not want to stress out about. The roads are typically winding mountain roads with only two lanes (one lane for each direction). Renting a car is a great option to get around in Costa Rica if you are comfortable navigating foreign driving. Otherwise, I highly recommend looking into hiring private transportation or inquiring with your hotel for transportation recommendations, or to see if they can hire transportation on your behalf. Pro tip: Add at least 45 minutes to an hour to the estimated time from place to place on Google Maps in Costa Rica due to the traffic, winding roads, quality of roads, etc.
