AsiaJapan5 days / January - August 2019
Highs & Lows
Open air hot springs and local food are a must!
It's kind of hard to get around if you don't speak Japanese
Itinerary Overview
August in Gifu : We arrived to a traditional Japanese inn by bus in the afternoon and stayed there for a few days. The numbers of buses going to hot springs called "Okuhida" are limited, so don't forget to book the ticket in advance.
January in Fukuoka : We arrived in Fukuoka and moved around the city by public transport. There are so many things to see and eat so we were busy throughout the day.

Okuhida Onsengo Hirayu Hot springs, nature and local festival
You can go for a hike or the closest beautiful place called "Hida" during the day. If it's sunny, you can go to a local festival at night and you can enjoy street food and traditional performance in the region called "Henbedori" Overall. My friend and I got to enjoy nature, great food and local culture. Not to mention, hot springs are great! We enjoy both inside one and open air one.

Hakata Ward Amazing food and traditional culture
We enjoyed so much great food and also enjoyed a traditional shrine called Dazaifu and local culture. You can enjoy both city life and old town views. We loved a boat with "kotatsu" at Yanagawa. Our favorite food was motsunabe and ikinari dango.
