Itinerary Overview
Would you like to spend a great summer vacation with your friends or alone in France? 😉 Then Marseille and Nice are the perfect cities for shared vacations or solo travelers! 🇫🇷
My three best friends and I have always wanted to go to France together. And in 2022 the time had come: we went to Marseille together and spent wonderful two weeks there. As I still hadn't had enough of France, its beaches, food and culture, I spontaneously went to Nice for another week — best decision! 😍
Marseille, in my opinion, stands out in particular for its alternative district, la Quartier Cours Julien. Here you will find lots of great bars, cafés and restaurants to pass the time. Marseille also has beautiful sand and pebble beaches that are easy to reach on a Lime scooter. It's soooo much fun to whizz through the city on a city scooter or ride along the coast!
And then Nice, ohhhh Nice! 😇😍❤️ Nice is one of my favorite cities on the Côte d'Azur in France because it combines everything I love: nature and the beach right next to each other, impressive architecture and a great cultural offer of museums, theaters and events. A perfect place for solo travelers!
I would definitely recommend learning some basic language skills before traveling to France - it makes traveling much more fun as the locals are more open and it's easier to share the culture 🙃
Marseille is the perfect place for delicious food, a vibrant city, culture and beautiful beaches.
There are many cafés, museums and beaches to visit. The alternative district of Cours Julien is particularly inviting for a stroll and a feast. Here I highly recommend the ice cream store "Ego": you can try out all the ice cream flavors and put them together yourself, the price is based on the total weight, not the number of flavors! There is also a large vegan range.
It's also worth visiting the Borelys Park and then cooling off at the Plage du Prado.
The harbor also invites you to stroll along. There are many small stalls with accessories, food and souvenirs. You should definitely buy some fresh fish there!
