Highs & Lows
You should definitely canoe on the beautiful lakes!
There are a lot of mosquitoes, so even though it’s hot you should wear covering clothes
Itinerary Overview
We arrived around noon in Oslo and rented a car to drive to Sweden. The first night we stayed in a very basic cabin in the mountains (close to Lekvattnet) and the next nights we stayed in an Airbnb in Lekvattnet. Our Airbnb host fixed the night in the basic cabin in the mountains for us as the Airbnb itself wasn’t available yet. The wooden cabin was situated in the middle of nowhere and gave us the real “back to basics” experience. When staying in the Airbnb itself we only had to cross the streets to reach the lake and enjoy the beautiful sunsets. We went hiking, canoeing, swimming, and mountain biking
this was a great adventure where we enjoyed the family and nature, a vacation full of calm and good energy. !
It’s a fantastic place to stay if you want to enjoy nature at a quiet and peaceful place. These types of cabins are used a lot by Swedish people, especially in the winter. It was nice to experience the local habits this way :) After waking up altogether (we slept with the five of us in the living room next to each other) and taking a basic breakfast, we left for a hike. We went hiking in the Danshallmyren which gave us our first impression of Swedish nature. After the walk we checked in on our real Airbnb and we’re happy to have a little bit more comfort again :)
if your search is more about reconnecting with nature this plan is perfect for you.
the sound of the river and the birds accompanying the landscape make this scenery one of the most wonderful for us.
This place is perfect for all kind of outdoor activities in the nature! One day we went hiking in a nearby ski domain. Another day we went canoeing (only 4 hours, that was already enough for the arm muscles). When you are in Sweden, you really have to do canoeing. This allows you to come to places where nobody else comes because you can’t reach it by land. For me, this was one of the things I liked most about Sweden: there are not a lot of people, you’re really the only ones doing a specific hike or canoe trail. We also rented mountain bikes and this was so fun! Very exhausting (best full body workout ever), but so fun. They have different mountain bike trails adjusted to all types of levels. Every night we could watch a beautiful sunset by the lake at our Airbnb. Would 100% recommend!
