During the day we did the Dove Lake Circuit. The walk is very accessible and easy to do. The nature is absolutely stunning! In the afternoon we hung around where we parked the van and spotted so many wombats, which was amazing. When it got dark we cooked some dinner and laid down on the picnic bench with blankets to watch the stars. Probably the best stargazing I have ever done! We knew it was illegal to camp there but we tried anyways, eventually late at night the ranger came and told us to leave the park. While we were driving out of a park a Tasmanian Devil was running in front of our car for a while, which was a very special experience as they are super hard to spot in the wild. Thanks ranger!

Q & A

  • What would you have changed?

Nothing! Always just go with the flow :)
  • Restaurant recommendations?

Camp food is better than any restaurant
  • Packing tips?

A good quality head torch to spot wildlife at night

Lodging

  • We stayed overnight in Dove Lake Carpark. At least, we tried because we got kicked out by the ranger because it was not allowed. We then drove out of the national park and slept at the first parking area we could find.
