Itinerary Overview
For my 15th birthday my parents planned a big trip around Europe, one of the countries we visited was Italy, definitely my favorite European country, the landscape is beautiful, persons are so kind and the vibe of each city is awesome! Our first stop was Rome, we stayed at a hotel really near from the “fontana di trevi” which is a famous fountain really beautiful, the name of the hotel was “Boutique hotel trevi” I totally recommended because of the location but also it was very welcoming, we stayed at Rome 3 days and the last day we rented a car for going to Florence, basically we just rented for moving from one city to another, we didn’t used it in the center of the cities because parking can be expensive and it’s not necessary, you can go walking to every spot! From Rome to Florence it was around 3 hours. There we stayed at “Hotel Berna” it was good but not so close to the cathedral we had to walk around 15 minutes. After Florence we went to Venice, a dream come true! The trip was around 4 hours, even though we stopped at Verona for 2 hours. Verona is a small city and it is completely worth visiting because is where Romeo and Juliet took place, you can visit Juliet´s house. Finally when we got to Venice we stayed just for one day, but we didn’t stay properly in the city, because for getting there you must take a water taxi and it can be complicated with the bags. That’s why we stayed at Mestre a little town near Venice, the hotel was called “Hotel vidale” we don’t recommended a 100% as it’s not so nice, but for one night it’s okay, probably it would be better to stay in Venice but have in mind the water taxi.
Rome My Rome 3 day itinerary was filled with visiting the most important historical sights and tasting Italian cuisine.
Rome is an awesome city, if you love history this is the place for you! Is like a big museum, in each corner you can find a new story. The first day we went to the coliseum which is a must if you go, the second day we basically dedicated to the Vatican, we are catholic so this visit was really meaningful for us (Have in mind that women can’t enter with shorts and t-shirts your shoulders and legs should be cover) other spots you can’t miss in Rome are the pantheon, the Capitoline and the st.Peters Basilica
Florence Great landscape
Definitely my favorite place in Florence was the Cathedral by far one of my favorites, is simply beautiful! Also walking around the restaurants near the cathedral is a great plan, there are some really good options. Another great spot in Florence is the Ponte Vecchio you can stroll around and have a great time, also you can leave your padlock there! Florence isn’t a big city but I guarantee is worth visiting! Is completely different from Rome, while in Rome you feel the rush and heavy vibes, in Florence everything feels at your own pace. My favorite ice-cream shop from Italy is Amorino, you can’t leave without trying this delicious dessert.
Venice Canals are incredible
Our final destination in Italy was Venice, since little I dreamed about been in a Gondola, and I can say it is awesome! The whole experience is incredible, it can cost around 80 euros but it is worth it. At Venice you can also visit the cathedral which is really pretty and also stroll around the city, it is very interesting seeing how small streets are, there is no a single car there, only bikes and of course the gondolas. We had an incredible pasta at a restaurant called “Da Mamo” our favorite part of traveling is food and enjoying the food from each place we visit.
