Food in Japan

Ramen Street for some world-class ramen. If you're in Kyoto and are craving coffee or some not-so-Japanese food, head to Asipai+Hibi (Asipai makes curry dishes, Hibi makes delicious coffee, and they share a space down a quiet and easy-to-miss alley).

Food in Mexico

Mexico City has a great modern food scene, and Oaxaca is known for mole. Being a pescatarian, central Mexico is very meat heavy but overall I didn't have any problems finding alternatives.

Food in Seattle

The Olympic Bar at the Fairmont Olympic Hotel, Ba Bar for Vietnamese, and Frankie and Joes for incredible vegan ice cream. Hands down one wouldn't know the difference between regular ice cream and theirs.
